Accidental Shooting Prompts Product Liability Lawsuit

Off-duty LAPD officer Enrique Chavez was left paralyzed when his 3-year-old son picked up his .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and shot him in the back. In a recent lawsuit, Chavez has claimed that the Glock 21 was lacking a sufficient safety system to prevent such an accident. The suit also names the company that produced and sold the gun’s holster, as well as the store where Chavez purchased the weapon.
