Applesauce Spill Blamed in West Virginia Slip-and-Fall Suit

Martinsburg, West Virginia resident Ann Moats has filed a personal injury lawsuit against local grocery store Weis Market after sustaining injuries in an in-store fall. According to the lawsuit, employees of the store had cleaned up shards of a glass jar of applesauce that had fallen and broken in one of the store’s aisles, but had negligently failed to remove the rest of the slippery mess that was left behind. Moats later slipped on the remnants of the applesauce spill and sustained a number of injuries. In her recently filed lawsuit, Moats has sought compensation of $74,500.
