When law professor and controversial former Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork ascended a dais at the Yale Club during a speaking engagement in June 2007, he might have expected his ideas to come under assault, but not his physical safety. Instead, due to what Bork has claimed was an unstable speaking platform, his attempt to reach the podium ended in a serious fall.
