Medical Malpractice Case Yields $2.8 Million Settlement

Today, doctors say that Knoxville, Tennessee resident Robin Farley has less than three years to live. In 2004, Farley was diagnosed with advanced cancer when doctors found a large tumor in one of her breasts. Farley claimed that the results of a routine mammogram performed in 2001 were misinterpreted when radiologists missed the tumor, delaying the diagnosis when the cancer may have been more treatable. A jury agreed with Farley’s claims, handing her a verdict totaling nearly $2.8 million.
