Ohio Parents Seek $5.5 Million in Drag Racing Crash that Injured Son

Drag racing is a popular summer spectator sport in the Ohio communities that straddle the border of West Virginia, but these often–unregulated events can have dire consequences when accidents occur. In June 2007, the Proger family of Steubenville, Ohio was watching a drag race at the Carroll Country Airport when a car spun out of control and entered the crowd. 11-year-old spectator Allen Proger was pinned beneath the vehicle, sustaining multiple serious injuries, including a concussion, broken bones, and cuts and burns. The driver of the car and several sponsors of the event are named in the lawsuit.
