Medical Response Team’s Questionable Performance Sparks Lawsuit

The death of a 48-year-old Sacramento-area bus driver sent shockwaves through his family and devastated his bereaved fiancée. However, the family’s emotional pain was compounded when they discovered that Quintin Jones’ death may have been caused by the emergency medical team that was supposed to be saving his life. After Jones’ bus crashed into a pole, he was rushed to an area hospital in an air ambulance. Although he appeared fine at the scene of the crash, his status deteriorated quickly en route, and died soon afterward. The coroner’s report in the case indicated that Jones’ death was caused when he aspirated his own blood after a failed medical procedure was performed by the air ambulance crew.
