$1.87 Million Award in New York Malpractice Suit

An Albany, NY couple recently saw a favorable outcome in a long-fought malpractice suit. The case stemmed from a 2003 incident, in which several doctors at Samaritan Hospital failed to detect or properly diagnose a high-glucose disorder. Within months, plaintiff Ronald Dumbrowski was admitted to another area hospital after suffering a glucose-induced stroke. The court found that the doctor’s failure to inform the Dumbrowski of his high blood glucose levels constituted malpractice.
