Herbal Supplement Caused Lead Poisoning, Lawsuit Claims

Iowa resident Frances Gaskell was trying to improve her health when she started taking a regimen of herbal supplements made by manufacturer Maharishi Ayurveda Products, Ltd. Unfortunately, the products ended up endangering not only Gaskell’s health, but the health of her unborn baby, as well. Gaskell was four months pregnant when a natural practitioner associated with the company sold her a line of special supplements. Soon afterward, Gaskell began to experience an array of troubling symptoms, and tests showed that she had a lead level twenty times higher than normal. Gaskell has filed suit against both the manufacturer and the practitioners, and has requested a jury trial in the case.
