Product Liability Suit Accuses Nissan of Negligent Seatbelt Design

Michael Guillory is the responsible type, a man who takes the time to fasten his seatbelt each and every time he enters a vehicle. This good habit should have paid off when his 1997 Nissan Pathfinder was struck by another driver who ran a stop sign, but it didn’t – and Guillory claims that a faulty design was to blame for the extensive injuries he sustained in the crash. In fact, Guillory’s seatbelt actually came unlatched during the accident, and Guillory is taking Nissan to task for it. The recently-filed suit asks for more than $75,000 to cover medical costs and suffering.
