Botched Surgery Kills Lung Cancer Patient, Suit Claims

When doctors told Archie Perkins that a surgical procedure could help boost his chances of recovery from an advanced case of lung cancer, both the patient and his family were optimistic. Unfortunately, Perkins passed away on the operating table, the victim of an outdated surgical technique, his survivors say. According to a lawsuit recently filed in a Texas court, doctors failed to respond appropriately when Perkins began hemorrhaging during surgery. A court date has not yet been set in the matter.
